A veteran foster parent certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia who fostered children in Arlington and Alexandria for ten years, Isabel focuses on work with youth in foster care and out of foster care, including Guardian ad Litem, CHINS, and adoption. She also represents youth and adults involved in the criminal justice system, people seeking protection from domestic violence, and people seeking to divorce.
Before starting her law practice, Isabel was CEO of a small business in Arlington County that was featured in the Washington Post, won numerous industry accolades and was honored as small and minority owned business of the year by the U.S.D.A.
Prior to that, Isabel was Director of Government and Public Affairs for Amtrak, legislative assistant to three senior members of the U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate, and worked in private legal practice as well as with two legal aid organizations in Washington D.C. Isabel is a graduate of Princeton, Harvard, and the Georgetown University Law Center.
Isabel was honored as a foster parent of the year by the Washington DC Council of Governments (2007), a county volunteer of the year by the Arlington County Board (2005), and was honored with an award for her pro bon work by Alexandria (VA) bar association (2013-2014).
Isabel is a member of the Virginia Bar, and is certified by the Indigent Defense Commission and by the Virginia Supreme Court to be a Guardian ad litem for children.
